Who we are

Sanad is a trading name of Ahmed El-Sharkasy, a sole trader in England. We are the "data controller" for the information described here, which means we're responsible for how it's used and you can hold us to that.

If you have any question about this notice, email sharkasy@getsanad.co. You'll reach a person, not a ticketing system.

What we collect, and when

When you register your interest on our website, we collect what you type into the form: your name, email address, phone number, the town or city in Egypt where your family member lives, your relationship to them, which services you said would help, which plan you're interested in, and anything you write in the final box.

If you become a customer, we'll also hold what we need to actually run the service: your family member's name, address and contact details, the practical details of what they need (which pharmacy they use, which bills are in their name, their appointment times), a record of every request and what we did about it, and receipts for money spent on your behalf.

We don't use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or analytics that follow you around the internet.

Why we're allowed to hold it

Under UK data protection law we need a lawful reason for each use:

What we doOur lawful basis
Reply to your enquiry and talk to you about the serviceLegitimate interests — you asked us to get in touch
Provide the service once you subscribePerformance of our contract with you
Keep records of what we did and what we spentLegal obligation (tax and accounting) and our legitimate interest in being able to show our work
Hold information about your family memberLegitimate interests, on the basis that you have their permission — see below

Your family member

Most of the sensitive information here isn't about you. It's about your parent or relative, who hasn't filled in any form.

That's why our terms ask you to confirm they know about the service and have agreed to their details being shared with us. We rely on that. If they ask us to stop holding their information, we will, and we'll tell you.

Health information. We try hard not to collect it. But if we're collecting a prescription or taking someone to a clinic, we may inevitably learn something about their health. UK law treats this as "special category" data and holds it to a higher standard. Where we hold it at all, we hold it because we have explicit consent, we use it only to deliver the specific service, and we don't keep it longer than the task requires.

We never ask for banking passwords, card PINs, or one-time security codes, and we won't accept them if offered.

Who else sees it

We keep this list short on purpose:

We don't sell your information, we don't share it for advertising, and we don't pass it to anyone else unless the law requires us to.

Information going to Egypt

Delivering this service means information about your family member reaches someone in Egypt. Egypt is not covered by a UK "adequacy" decision, so we put a written data protection agreement in place with anyone working for us there, restricting what they may do with the information and requiring them to keep it confidential.

How long we keep it

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of what we hold, correct anything wrong, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or send it to someone else. You can object to us using it for our legitimate interests, and where we rely on consent you can withdraw that at any time.

Email sharkasy@getsanad.co and we'll respond within one month. There's no charge.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first — but you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
